Was There Life Before the Pandemic?

I’m in the middle of writing my 5th book and keep forgetting that my characters aren’t living in a pandemic. I’m currently writing a scene in a restaurant and keep wondering if I should mention that there’s plexiglass between tables, or that the waiter is wearing a mask, or that there is social distancing. Sometimes it’s hard to forget what life was like prepandemic.
